VOLT ASSIST CUSTOMER TERMS OF USE

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply whenever you rent or use a Volt Assist portable power bank through a Volt Assist Charging Station, QR code, contactless payment terminal, the Volt Assist website or the Volt Assist mobile application (where available).
By starting a rental, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms.
1. About Volt Assist
Volt Assist operates a self-service portable power bank rental service. Our charging stations are located at various partner venues throughout the United Kingdom, including hospitals, gyms, golf clubs, sports venues, hotels, bars, restaurants and other public locations.
Although our charging stations are located at third-party venues, your rental agreement is with Volt Assist unless expressly stated otherwise.
2. Eligibility
To use the Service you confirm that:
You are at least 16 years of age.
You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
Any information you provide is accurate and complete.
You will comply with all applicable laws while using the Service.
3. Starting a Rental
You may start a rental by:
Scanning the QR code displayed on the Charging Station;
Using the contactless payment terminal;
Using the Volt Assist mobile application (where available); or
Any other method approved by Volt Assist.
Your rental begins once payment has been authorised and the Charging Station releases a Power Bank.
4. Rental Charges
Rental charges, security deposits and any maximum rental charge are displayed before you confirm your rental.
By proceeding, you authorise Volt Assist to collect the applicable rental charges and any refundable security deposit.
Prices may vary between locations.
5. Security Deposit
A refundable security deposit may be authorised or collected before your rental begins.
Provided the Power Bank is returned correctly and these Terms have been complied with, your deposit will normally be refunded automatically.
Refund times depend on your payment provider and are outside Volt Assist's control.
6. Before Using the Power Bank
Before use, inspect the Power Bank.
Do not use it if it appears:
Cracked;
Swollen;
Leaking;
Excessively hot;
Visibly damaged; or
Unsafe.
If you believe a Power Bank is faulty, please stop using it immediately and contact Volt Assist at enquiries@voltassist.co.uk
7. Safe Use
The Power Bank must only be used to charge compatible electronic devices.
You must not:
Dismantle or modify the Power Bank;
Attempt repairs;
Expose it to fire or excessive heat;
Immerse it in water;
Deliberately damage it;
Remove identification labels;
Use it for any unlawful purpose.
You are responsible for the Power Bank while it is in your possession.
8. Returning the Power Bank
Your rental ends only when:
The Power Bank has been returned to a compatible Volt Assist Charging Station; and
The Charging Station has successfully confirmed the return.
If a Charging Station is full, you should return the Power Bank to another compatible Volt Assist Charging Station.
Until a successful return has been recorded, you remain responsible for the Power Bank.
9. Lost, Stolen or Damaged Equipment
If the Power Bank is lost, stolen, intentionally damaged or not returned, Volt Assist may retain your security deposit and recover any reasonable repair or replacement costs where permitted by law.
If the Power Bank is stolen while in your possession, you should notify Volt Assist as soon as reasonably practicable at enquiries@voltassist.co.uk
10. Availability
Volt Assist cannot guarantee that every Charging Station will always have Power Banks available or empty return slots.
Temporary interruptions may occur due to maintenance, technical faults, software updates or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
11. Payments
Volt Assist accepts supported payment methods, including contactless debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and other approved payment methods.
By starting a rental you authorise Volt Assist to collect:
Rental charges;
Security deposits;
Any additional charges properly due under these Terms.
12. Refunds
If you believe you have been charged incorrectly, please contact Volt Assist as soon as possible at enquiries@voltassist.co.uk.
Where an error has occurred, we will investigate and issue any refund if required.
Refunds will be made using the original payment method where reasonably possible.
13. Third-Party Venues
Charging Stations may be located at venues operated by independent businesses.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, those venues are not responsible for:
Rental charges;
Deposits;
Refunds;
Equipment faults;
Customer accounts; or
Customer support.
Your agreement is with Volt Assist.
14. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.
Subject to applicable law, Volt Assist shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service.
You agree to use the Service responsibly and at your own risk.
15. Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable consumer protection legislation.
16. Suspension of Service
Volt Assist may refuse, suspend or terminate access to the Service where reasonably necessary, including where:
Fraud is suspected;
Payment has failed;
Equipment has been intentionally damaged;
These Terms have been materially breached; or
Use of the Service is unlawful.
17. Changes to These Terms
Volt Assist may amend these Terms from time to time.
The latest version will always be available through the Volt Assist website
Your continued use of the Service following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales unless applicable law provides otherwise.
